Description

Don’t want to do this at all, but am thinking about parting with my 98 e39 528i. Just looking to see what’s out there cash or trade wise. Mods list: Eonon head unit Short shift kit w weighted m sport shift knob. Muffler delete w eBay headers, sounds good, not raspy and has some burbles in the lower rpm’s. Dinan coils w coil packs. 350cc injectors paired with a mafless tune. Not a cold air intake, but just put a new “cold air” k&n boxed intake about 50 miles ago. Maintenance: Head gaskets done at 190k miles. Oil filter housing and gasket replaced at 190k miles. Ngk spark plugs at 205k miles. New o2 sensors in all 4 banks at 205k miles. New camshaft and crankshaft sensors at 205k miles. All of the mods have been but on throughout my ownership ranging anywhere between 170k miles up to where it sits now at 208k miles. (I include coil packs, coils, and the headers because I also replaced the gasket so absolutely no exhaust leaks.) New radiator + tank at 160k miles (with receipt) New control arms and bearings all around done by previous owner at 140k. New battery put in at 200k. New alternator put in at 207k. New break pads at 140k. Still in good condition. (Previous owner) Timing chain and guides are in good condition, no clicks, no ticks, no rough idles. All windows work, even the sun roof works, and drains correctly, no clogs. Cool stuff: This is a 3 owner car, I am the 3rd and the 2 owners prior to me were older gentleman. Car has been hit, not in a wreck. A lady reversed into me with a lifted truck, the dent has been pulled about 60% of the way out, and the taillight has been replaced. There was no frame damage just panel damage, and the bumper was not effected either. It holds a clean title because she was a friends mom and we did not go through insurance. If you know how to pull dents or can yourself, or even bondo this is a very easy fix, maybe in the range of 250$-750$. I have the original window sticker from when the car was purchased and delivered to the man’s house in California, this is a west coast owned car and was only ever owned in San Jose, and San Francisco before the 2nd owner moved from San Fran 3 years ago, and I have owned it for 2 of those 3 years years. I have the 5th bbs rim with the original tire that was put on when the car was purchased, so it needs a new tire but the rim is in perfect condition. It has the original tool and aid kit for the car. It has been driven from San Jose to Florida and back, and driven from San Fran to Seattle quite a few times, I’ve also taken it to the beach and Seattle myself and it was fine every step of the way. The bad: The dent in the rear which I explained. Slight curb rash on 2 of the rims, from prior owners. It has a check engine light on for the maf, it is a 200$ oem part and takes 5 minutes to replace, has never bothered me and doesn’t effect drive ability of idling so never replaced it. Abs sensors and trac control sensors are off. If you know these cars this is called the triangle, the check engine goes the abs goes and then the traction control goes. To replace these parts are about 130$ for the abs sensors, and 150$ for the traction control sensors, I am pricing these replacements off of fcp euro which is the only place I have ever purchased replacement parts from. You can find them on eBay for cheaper, or non oem, that will work just fine for probably half the price. Ac does not work, needs recharged. 150-250$ depending on where you go. I am being fully transparent about this car. I am pretty busy so if you’re interested, do not reply with “is this still available” if the ad is up it is available. I am seeing what’s out there trade wise as well. But cash talks. My reasons for selling is I just recently purchased a Lexus gs300 and would like to build that out a little more, a chance of me leaving for school in a different state has also risen up and I believe the Lexus would just be the all around smarter option for traveling back and forth state to state. 6,500$ obo and I’m willing to negotiate. Open to trades + cash on my end or yours. Just depending. Thanks for reading.
