Colorless moissanite has a dazzling sparkle, with its dispersion (fire) creating rainbow-like flashes in the light. This sparkle is often sharper and more colorful than diamonds. Moissanite is second only to diamond on the Mohs scale of hardness, with a rating of 9.25 compared to a diamond's 10. This means it is durable and resistant to scratches, making it perfect for daily wear like diamond earrings. Colorless moissanite typically falls within the D-F range on the diamond color scale, appearing as bright and white as high-grade diamonds. When set in sterling silver it will enhance the sparkle like diamond even more. Moissanite has a slightly lower density than diamond, so it may be lighter for the same carat weight. However, visually, they look almost identical in size.
