This is an incredibly substantial, heavyweight statement piece built over a rigid structural steel core frame that is completely wrapped in natural multi-strand sculptural bent rattan loops. The high-end design is detailed with gorgeous, heavy cast-metal bronze-plated swan neck/scrolled finial pieces branching out directly from the inner rattan structure. The table rests firmly on matching, period-correct bronze-plated metal feet and features integrated protective cushioning discs built into the top loop crowns to perfectly cradle the glass. It is crowned by a beautiful, premium-weight 1/2" to 5/8" thick round glass top with a polished edge. The impressive thickness of the glass, the underlying solid steel frame, and the heavy cast bronze elements make this a highly collectible furniture piece that sets itself far apart from lightweight wicker reproductions.
