Description

The Replica "Townley Urn" measures approximately 12.5" tall. It is antique white / cream with dark accents in the lines and grooves of piece. The Urn has bas relief scenes and is fairly heavy. THE ORIGINAL was Excavated by Gavin Hamilton and probably restored in the 18th Century. Figures on the vase are followers of the wine god Bacchus and are shown dancing in revelry. The Townley Urn was made famous, in part, by the inspired poem "Ode on a Grecian urn" by John Keats." This reproduction Ornamental Grecian Vase is in overall-good pre-owned vintage condition. It may need a bit of finer cleaning.
