1983 Vanagon Westfalia Camper AS IS!

This vanagon has a 1.9 liter wasserboxer engine. It runs well, passed smog, and registered until Jan of next year. It is a project, however, like all 40 year old cars, but it mostly needs cosmetic love. The odometer was replaced with another with similar mileage and there's about 400k on this one, but other than using too much oil, it's running well, but needs the cooling fan looked into. It works fine, but I think a wire may have come loose while I was replacing the wiper motor. That may be fixed shortly... The van "Casper" has been modified like most of these vehicles. I removed the fridge for extra storage. The propane tank has been bypassed so I use camping tanks for the stove, though we really never cooked inside the van. Most propane suppliers won't fill the original tank anymore. I also removed the rear heater from the rear bench as well as the roof cabinet, which never provided much storage given how much visibility was taken up. I have the cabinet, however, so you can easily replace it. I recently replaced the alternator, fuel lines, exhaust system, wiper motor, and gas tank and redid the interior upholstery and tent fabric in reds to match. It needs a stereo, but the speakers are all in place. Again, there is a hiccup with the cooling fan, but I'll update when I get that tackled. More photos to come.
