This is a Pendleton Chief Joseph blanket. This design is one of Pendleton's oldest and most popular patterns, first woven in the 1920s.  The blanket commemorates Chief Joseph, a leader of the Nez Perce tribe in the late 1800s, who was admired for his courage and integrity. The arrowhead pattern on the blanket symbolizes his bravery and strength.  This blanket measures 78” in length and 66” in width. The color is slate, a beautiful steel blue color. It is in excellent condition and was rarely used. Comes from a clean smoke free home. Made in the USA.
