Description
This is a spectacular antique bronze finial of the Egyptian God "Bes" in excellent condition for its age. The bronze has formed a beautiful blue-green patina over time, adding to its beauty and intrigue. Mounted, it would make a distinctive impression upon any art collection. This piece was made by local Egyptians for affluent visitors who traveled to Egypt on educational "Grand Tours" of various archaeologically significant sites between 1780-1920s; a time also known as the "Egyptian Revival Period." This Egyptian antique is attested to as authentic and to have been made in Egypt during the “Grand Tour/Egyptian Revival” Era (1780s-1920s) by Mr Matthew Wicks of Ancient Hands, Ltd, and is accompanied by a digitally signed PDF copy of its "Provenance & Ownership" documentation. DIMENSIONS: 5.25" H x 1.25" W x .75" D Traveling Man Treasures Curiosity Vault is a small shop in NE Portland, OR, selling vintage/antique pieces focused on ancient civilizations as well as unique artwork and sculptures.
