Description
This beautiful, antique, silver plated ice water pitcher is marked "patented by Jas. Stimpson 1854". It has a ceramic liner which was meant to keep the water cold for longer. The ceramic lined pitcher was an inspiration for the Thermos. It is Victorian, and produced by the Meridan Brittania Company. It is a little over 13" tall. It is in good condition for its age, it has a couple of small dings in the outer silver layer, but the ceramic is not chipped. All the patina is original. The hinge is strong and straight, and the knob on the lid is shaped like a fan.
