Hungarian born Elizabeth (Liz) Reimer & her husband Joseph, immigrated to Australia, in 1939. She initially hand made the jewelry, in her dining room. In 1952, she founded the family business "Elizabeth Reimer Pty., Ltd." The brand name was called Arcansas (yes, with a c, lol!) jewelry. She & her nearly 30 employees crafted the jewelry, of 14K plating, m.o.p, glitter enamel, rhinestones, crystals, & alloys of silver & gold tones. All were soldered & made by hand! She cleverly hid the Arcansas name, or her name, somewhere on the jewelry. Her pieces were art nouveau in style, & featured a lot of the local flowers & plants. Her jewelry was marketed in Japan, France, Britain, Singapore, South Africa, New Zealand, & the U.S. She & the company retired in 1962. This piece comes with original box, with Australian sticker. The box is red velvet. It has a tear on top. The Elizabeth Reimer name, is on the back, of the dagger like clasp.
