In '65 Homecrest debuted this model 97-170 chair dubbed "The Galahad", as part of it's dual role home or office furniture catalog. Homecrest has been making high quality luxury furniture in the tiny town of Wadena, Minnesota ever since it's founding in 1953. Back then, Homecrest's tagline was "Furniture of distinction for casual living" and I'd say they hit their mark with this piece. No one can deny Eames' influence on Bottemiller here with cutting edge modern elements like the exposed wire frame, and back-tilted stance. That's not to say this is imitation, it's better described as "Eames-adjacent" with its own unique style. The chair are constructed of a high quality steel wire frame with very clean, hidden welds throughout. The swivel platform attaches to the base of the chair via Bottemiller's own patented double torsion spring design, allowing for effortless rocking and pivoting that's as smooth today as it was when it was made.
