Description

This is an excellent tv. I have taken good care of it because I paid 3,200 when it was new. It works like new. I have hooked it up to my computer as a monitor. I have always treasured it. I have a wall mount and original remote for it. I also have cables for it. WCG-CCFL, or Wide Color Gamut Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp, is a technology used in some Sony BRAVIA LCD TVs, particularly in the early 2000s, to enhance color reproduction. It involves using a special type of backlight that produces a wider range of colors compared to standard CCFL backlights. This technology, combined with Sony's Live Color Creation, aimed to deliver more vibrant and accurate colors. Here's a more detailed breakdown: WCG-CCFL: This stands for Wide Color Gamut Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp. It refers to a type of backlight technology used in some LCD TVs to produce a wider range of colors than standard CCFLs. Sony's BRAVIA TVs: Sony has used WCG-CCFL technology in some of its BRAVIA LCD TVs, particularly in the XBR series. Live Color Creation: Sony combined WCG-CCFL with its Live Color Creation technology, which involved advanced chroma signal processing, to further enhance color reproduction. Benefits: WCG-CCFL aimed to provide clearer blues, more natural greens, and a broader range of colors in general, resulting in more vibrant and realistic images. Contrast: In some cases, WCG-CCFL backlights were used alongside dynamic contrast ratios of 3000:1, with dynamic contrast reaching 50,000:1 or 1,000,000:1 in other models, according to StereoNET. Comparison with LED: While Sony also adopted LED backlighting in later BRAVIA models, some users preferred the picture quality of WCG-CCFL, finding it more consistent across different viewing angles according to StereoNET. Professional Use: WCG-CCFL technology was also used in Sony's professional broadcast monitors, like the PVM-L2300, to meet the demands of critical picture monitoring applications. HDMI digital sound.
