Description
The image shows a print of a "Meadow Lark" by John James Audubon. This particular print is based on Plate 136 from his renowned work, The Birds of America. John James Audubon (1785–1851) was an American ornithologist and naturalist who created detailed illustrations of North American birds. The Birds of America is considered one of the greatest ornithological works ever produced. The original prints were created from Audubon's watercolors and engraved by Robert Havell Jr. between 1827 and 1836. There are various editions and facsimiles of these prints, including the original double-elephant folio Havell edition, as well as later octavo and Amsterdam editions. Was found in great grandma's attic!! It's fragile frame seems promising!! Asking 50 bucks! Says online is worth 500 to 1000
