The MillerMatic Challenger 172 is a vintage 230V MIG welder, known for being a solid, older-school machine with a 4-position voltage switch. It is a reliable workhorse for a variety of metalworking tasks. Finding replacement parts like the gun and consumables is still possible through welding suppliers.  I inherited this setup from my BIL before he passed in 2002. It was all still in the original box. I have only used it a few times for some minor projects, and I doubt I have burned through 50’ of wire. It is capable of welding a range of materials, from sheet metal to 1/4" steel on the highest settings. It does operate on 230V 30 Amp power, and it is built to be durable.   Besides the MillerMatic 172 welder, gun and cables, the set comes with a cart with 6” wheels, a  nearly full 125 cu/ft 75% Argon 25% CO2 Welding Gas Cylinder Tank, extra spools of .030 solid core and .035 flux core wire, a spare regulator, two welding helmets and the original Owner’s Manual.
