This washer has load-sensing features to minimize water usage. The washer makes a grunting noise when it is measuring the load, I too thought it was strange. The technician explained that it is normal noise for these machines. The machine is weighing the load of clothes. The water level will be lower than you expect on all the settings except BULKY ITEMS, and DEEP CLEAN mode. The manufacturers designed those setting to satisfy the consumers' request for higher water levels while in use. The price will be the price since I had to pay for another diagnosis of a machine that was under warranty before it was sold.
