Description

For sale is a restored 1942 Willys MB army jeep, lovingly resurrected over a 5 year period. It’s not a museum trailer queen; it was built to run in parades, car shows, military vehicle collectors events, and veterans events and draws a LOT of attention everywhere it goes. There are many reproduction parts in it and on it, but many original parts as well. The motor has less than 50 miles on it after a complete rebuild and starts VERY easily. Brand new Solex carburetor, all new plugs, fuel lines, coolant hoses, belts, etc. with a 12 volt alternator vs. 6 volt generator. The paint and lettering were done by myself with the exception of the pinup art painted on the windshield; that was done by my ex’s niece by hand and looks like the day it was painted. It has sat in my shop now for quite some time and with life circumstances changing for me, I need to find it a good new home. The good: Brand newly rebuilt motor runs STRONG and starts easily. The body is in really good shape and reinforced underneath in areas and is rock solid. The paint is in VERY good shape having used Gillespie Industrial coatings, the same used in WWII by the Willy’s and Ford factories, to the same specs and color. Yeah, they still make the stuff. The paint is very durable and scratch resistant, so I always welcomed children who wanted to climb in and pose for photos with mom and dad at car shows and events which made it much more fun than the other street rods at the shows with their “do not touch” signage Many new reproduction parts and many reconditioned original parts throughout. Newish Firestone NDT tires on the jeep and the spare in the back Brand new canvas all around (and up top) Trailer has original floor. Not a sheet metal replacement The bad: Electrical needs finished. Needs to be completely wired, however, I have the blackout lights, all gauges and most of not all switches. Wiring harnesses are available to plug and play from Ron Fitzpatrick jeep parts for a few hundred bucks. Radiator. It’s got the original radiator and despite several attempts at a complete flush, it is a fools errand. It needs a new radiator. A new one is available for less than $300 shipped from a supplier in Montana. Clutch. It works and does ok, but I’d seriously consider dropping the clutch at some point and redoing it. I just don’t believe I did it right. It starts and runs (ignition temporarily wired), but yeah, it needs the electrical installed. With the RFJP harnesses it’s pretty simple. I just never got around to it. I have the document needed to meet at DMV and get it registered to you. However it is not currently registered. My loss is your gain, HOWEVER: #1 Reasonable offers are encouraged. Low ballers can 🤬 right off. #2 Serious inquiries ONLY. DO NOT contact me if you’re not seriously considering please. I have a lot going on right now and a full time job and commute. I don’t have time for folks who just want to talk about how cool they are but have no resources to seriously consider. There’s a great home out there for this jeep and that’s my main goal, finding that home. #3 If interested, it’ll be a CASH DEAL. Bring a trailer. None of this “oh, I’ll send you a check for more than the amount and send a truck and you pay the truck and get laughed at at the bank with your phony check… “ forget it. Not going to happen. I don’t have stupid tattooed on my forehead. It’s going to be a deal where I meet the interested party, they come see the jeep and look it over from top to bottom to make a good informed decision for yourself. Then cash. Price is $15,000 or best offer for both. Jeep is located in Roy Washington, halfway between Tacoma and Olympia. (And I do welcome best offers, so take a shot. Just not a lowball one).
