Walnut's tone falls between the warmth of rosewood and the ringing quality of maple. Next, a sitka spruce top is joined to the body to provide a balanced midrange and vibrant response to picking. The neck is made of maple with an ebony fingerboard to provide a defined attack. When you put all the tonewoods together, you create an instrument with warm lows and bell-like highs.
