Extremely Rare pair of Advent (Jensen years) 3-way bookshelf speakers. Made in Aug 1992. In excellent working condition with all new foam and rubber surrounds on the woofers. Midrange speakers were carefully re-foamed with new original strike ‘fillet foam surrounds’ (smooth transition of angle from surround to the woofer cone). The internal bass woofer had a rubber speaker surrounds installed so they will never need to replaced again, as foam breaks down over the years. Advents have a pleasing sound with no listening fatigue, always considered excellent speakers for the price point, and good for all day listening. This speaker has the large 1” gen 2 fried egg style tweeter, used in many of the higher model Advents speakers like full size Graduate and Maestro models. The midrange is a carbon film covered paper cone front facing with its own air chamber and tiny port at the top front of the speaker. Inside the speaker cabinet is the bass woofer ported out to the bottom front as with it own twin air chambers for a bandpass subwoofer style design. Unique for bookshelf speakers. These were the un-released bookshelf model 250 of the new speaker line “New Vision” Advent came out with during the Jensen ownership years. They were only sold to speciality stereo shop employees and company employees. Two tower versions were also released publicly the 2-way Model 350 (has similarities to the Advent Heritage towers) and the Model 500, a tower, which is also very rare to find for sale. I never ever thought I would part with these, I restored them for my own use and am a perfectionist, but spouse says I have too much stereo equipment and speakers and some have to go.
