Description
This is a beautiful and hard-to-find Johnson Bros. mid century Piazza serving platter. Johnson Brothers was a British tableware manufacturer and exporter that was noted for its early introduction of "semi-porcelain" tableware. It was among the most successful Staffordshire potteries which produced tableware, much exported to the United States, from the 1890s through the 1960s. This is circa 1960s. Cool geometric pattern of concentric squares in orange, white, brown and green on a grayish-blue background. The overall large square is inset in a slightly depressed square in the interior of each piece. Platter is approx. 11-7/8” x 9-1/2” in excellent vintage condition with no issues to note. The designs are sharp and bright, and do not show any visible use. Markings: Stamped Johnson Bros. Made in England. Ironstone on bottom. Snowhite R1 $40.00 cash obo
