Antique ABPC Crystal Cut Glass Bowl | Heavy Leaded Crystal Starburst Motif Decorative 8" Bowl 1910s. In Good Antique condition, only a few flea bites, the insdie center has heavy utensil marks, cannot feel it but you can see it, photo shows detail. Lovely for a fruit bowl or shallow plant. Approx: 8" x 3 1/2" weighing 3 Pounds & 8 ounces. A Bit of History: This type of antique bowl was made during the American Brilliant Period (ABP) & (ABPC) American Brilliant Pre Cut) of cut glass, which spans roughly from 1876 to 1917. Specific heavy, deeply cut, high-lead crystal bowls featuring starburst & hobstar motifs were predominantly produced between 1890 & 1915. Because most cutters of that era rarely signed their work, the exact maker is often difficult to confirm. However, it was likely crafted by a premier American glasshouse such as Libbey, Hawkes, or Dorflinger. The starburst design is one of the most recognizable & highly sought-after hallmarks of ABP cut glass.
