Description
Beautiful Vintage Guild Tube Radio 1956 "Country Belle" Model #556 All Original! 1956 Tube Radio was made to look like an old wooden country wall phone. It was made by the Guild Radio and Television Company in Inglewood, CA. This model is called "Country Belle". The cabinet is made of solid maple wood (solid, not veneered). The earpiece is made of Bakelite. The mouthpiece and hand crank are made of pot metal, lacquered black like an real old time telephone. The mouthpiece swivels up and down. Above the mouthpiece is stenciled in gold "The Country Belle by Guild". The bells and other accessories are made of brass. The radio is in good working condition. This is an AM radio only. Warms up in seconds. The dial on the side lights up when it is turned on. The phone ear piece cradle turns the radio on/off and is in working order. The station crank, volume and tone controls are all in working order. All knobs are correct and present. It has the original cloth handset cord, and the original copper colored electrical cord. The original paper label is still attached to the back. The schematic diagram shows all the tube locations. The gas tubes are all intact. The wooded case is in very good condition. The only thing that doesn’t work is the tuner dial doesn’t change the station. Can arrange pick up from SE Portland, West Linn or Boring
