Description

Beautiful matched set of four antique American "fancy chairs" in tiger (curly) maple, dating to roughly the 1840s–1850s. Hand-carved pierced back splats, turned legs, shaped front stretchers, and hand-caned seats — the caning has been professionally redone on the set, so they're ready to use, not a project. The tiger maple figure really shows in person, especially in the crest rails. Solid, sturdy, and structurally sound. Honest age-appropriate patina — original character, no paint, no damage. Perfect as dining side chairs, accent chairs, or around a breakfast table. Sets of four from this era in matching condition are hard to find — they're usually broken up and sold as singles. $395 o.b.o. for the set. Cash or Venmo. Serious inquiries welcome — happy to send more photos or video.
