Description
This is a Corona 3 folding typewriter that was manufactured by Corona Typewriter Company of Groton, New York. The Corona 3 was an extremely popular typewriter, produced from 1912 until 1941. This model has serial number 188476, dating it to 1917. This typewriter’s platen and carriage can fold down to rest on the keyboard, allowing it to become compact and portable. This is the model that Ernest Hemingway used as it's lightweight and mobility were desirable for reporters to use. Overall dimensions: 4 1/2 in x 12 in x 10 in To view a YouTube video on how to use this typewriter, type this in the YT search box: How to Use a Corona 3 Folding Typewriter - How to use a typewriter The typewriter carriage doesn't advance when letters or the spacebar are pushed but all the keys function. It does come with it's carrying case and a reprint of the owner's manual. This is being sold as a conversation piece or perhaps a project for someone who likes to repair things. These typewriters sell for many hundreds of dollars in working condition; my price is $150 cash -- no trades.
