Talking & Train Sounds Clock works & keeps good time Push the button and the conductor says "Good Morning - All Aboard". Then the train whistle goes off and the train pulls out from the station. The battery compartment has been cleaned. Requires 4 - "AA" Batteries (not included) Yes, the train goes around the track. There are two ways it does this: 1) You set the "wake up" time with the alarm set knob behind the mountain. a) To activate the alarm you press the "LIONEL" button that is the black rectangular button in the very front. b) Once the actual time is reached the train moves and makes sounds as it goes around the track. This goes on until you again press the "LIONEL" button and by doing so the train stops and the conductor says "good morning all-board". 2) You can also get the train going around the track at anytime by just pushing on the "L" round button in the front. The train does not run around on the hour. It is simply an alarm clock and not a cuckoo clock style.
