Description

Up for sale is a true legend. Voted one of the top 50 greatest boats of all-time; the 1979 23’ Seacraft built by Bill Potter. This particular model is called the Sceptre – which has a forward windshield, a forward helm, and a v-berth for sleeping 2 adults forward. My intent was to make it a “Savage” model which removes the front windshield and replaces the forward helm with a center console. This way you have the best of both worlds, a center console for open fishing – with a covered sleeping area. I have run out of time and money to restore this boat – and also own 2 other boats. It is a project boat, completely gutted, no wires, no electronics, no hardware, no motors, etc. The boat still does have the original 85-gallon aluminum fuel tank installed. The boat comes with a center console from a 20’ mako and I also have the original windshield, motor cover and berth cushions. My goal was to fill the transom and put an outboard bracket on the boat. I have done a lot of fairing and filling empty hardware holes with epoxy. The transom will need work depending on what power option you choose, otherwise the exterior is ready for sanding, primer and paint. You have a blank canvas to do whatever you want, and you will have an extremely seaworthy classic boat on your hands. I really hate to get rid of it, but I need to clear the space. The boat comes with a trailer that was for my 25’ Bertram. It has been adjusted to fit the sea craft. The tires are in good shape, but the trailer needs some love- surge brake and lights do not work. The trailer will get the boat home though- I just used it to bring the seacraft from long beach back to my home in Redlands (70 Miles) with no problems. Look at the picture of the finished boat and you’ll see what my plan was. Boat registration was valid through 2017, trailer registration is up to date. I have both pink slips in hand. All offers considered. Thank you.
