Description
Brown Turkey Figs has proven itself a reliable and productive variety. It bears large, sweet and flavorful, dark brown figs with light amber flesh. Ideal for first-time fruit growers. The Brown Turkey Fig is self-pollinating, heat-loving, and becomes surprisingly drought-tolerant once established. These figs have a rich, sugary flavor often compared to butterscotch or maple syrup. They are excellent for eating fresh right off the branch, drying for snacks, or turning into homemade jams and preserves. When fully ripe and at their tender, shipping them long distances is virtually impossible. Another plus for Figs – deer don’t like them (most of the time)! It's require at least 8 hours of sunlight during the growing season. Hardy 0° - 5° F. Bearing Age: 1-2 years after planting. Size at Maturity: 8-10 ft in height, smaller with pruning. Ripening Time: Late July – early August Yield: 10-15 lbs. or more per plant Pests & Diseases: Figs are not bothered by pests in our region. Asking for $40. Located in Milwaukie OR 09222
