McIntosh MAC 1900 Solid State Stereo Receiver Tested and Works 1970’s Tested and is working. This unit was acquired from an estate where the owner had an extensive collection of old electronics that were stored indoors and very well taken care of. This unit powered on and after some help from the audio community I learned how to plug it up so I can test it. The signal isn’t the best because I tested it in a basement so i imagine thats what the static sound is but im not sure because when I turn the volume knob up the speakers make a cracking sound. It could be the speakers themselves or the combination of poor signal strength and the speakers. It could also be that it needs a deep clean inside. The balance knob, treble and bass seem to work just fine. Cosmetically this unit has no visible damage with the exception of the treble knob that looks chewed and the other knobs having some blemishes that look like they might be easily wiped down.
