This machine has been tested and works well. The top wire part that holds the thread broke off and needs to be glued back on. (see pic #6.) I used tape to put it back on to continue using it. I believe epoxy would do the trick, or replacing the plastic the top of the pole. Everything else is in great working order. Comes with the user manual, original box, pedal, and spool caps. The pedal cord has some styrofoam stuck to it from the box, that I couldn't get off. This was sitting unused for 8 years in storage and may need some maintenance, however I tested it and it works well to my knowledge, with the thread holder taped on. The majority of Bernina sewing machines are very classy as well as top quality. Many are still sewing 40 to 50 years after their original production.The good thing about buying a used Bernina is that you do not have to pay the original price for the machine. You can get a top-quality machine for a regular sewing machine price. Plus, it will still sew like it was new and keep sewing for many more years.
