Has most of its life left (see second photo). It DOES work. BUT you have to be very consistent with it. I was consistent for a while, but I didn't stay consistent and I just bought a newer model that you can use less frequently and get the same effect, but it's more expensive. I used this consistently as directed about two years ago (it might have been three?) and I still have only about half my natural amount of leg hair (the only area I tried it on). I probably only used it 7 weeks in a row at any given point, but I did try it a couple of different times. The number shown on the screen is how many more times it will flash, so you and a family member could probably do your whole bodies and still have flashes left over. If you have any questions, please ask. I have pale skin and not especially dark hair, but it isn't blonde either
