The Rosie O’Donnell celebrity doll depicts her as a talk show host.  The doll was manufactured by Mattel in 1999 as a “Friend of Barbie”.  Rosie O’Donnell was well known at the time as a stand up comic, movie star, and as host of a multiple Emmy award winning talk show The Rosie O’Donnell Show from 1996 to 2002.  She is scheduled to host a new talk show in the fall of 2011, has a 2 hour daily radio show on SIRIUS, and runs a blog at https://offerup.com/redirect/?o=d3d3LnJvc2llLmNvbQ==. Five dollars from the sale of every doll was donated to O’Donnell’s charity the For All Kids Foundation, Inc.. The doll sold well as an alternative to Barbie, but it’s longevity for play was shorted by Mattel because they didn’t make clothing in the doll’s size.  The doll was forever in the red jacket, brown pinstriped button down vest, and the white t-shirt with attached matching red pants  it came wearing.  The doll also came with a microphone and high top white sneakers with crew socks. The doll was made as a toy not a collector’s doll and it’s legs bend, shoulders go around, torso swivels, and neck moves in all directions.  Only the arms are stiff.  The box came with a photo of the set of The Rosie O’Donnell Show on back of the box, so you could play talk show with it.  Doll cannot stand alone as shown. *FACTORY SEALED in the original package. Figure has NEVER been opened. *Ages: 6 And Over
