Ride a flashy bit of bicycle history. This is a classic 1972 Schwinn, made in Chicago, with 10 speeds. It’s been garaged and regularly tuned up. It has picked up a few scrapes over the years but has been well loved. I bought it in 2012 from a 79-year-old woman whose physical condition had deteriorated so much that she could no longer bike. She wanted it to find a good home, and so do I. The Suburban offers a comfortable upright riding position so you can see the road while saving gas. You’ll also hear admiring onlookers say, “Great bike!” on occasion. This is a 19” frame, which was considered a small. I’m almost 5’-5” with long legs, and it’s a bit small for me. But maybe not for you. (The serial number is etched into the head tube. There’s a separate etching on the seat tube that might indicate its manufacture date: STA0872.)
