***AD IS UP, IT IS AVAILABLE *** 1980 Toro Whirlwind 25" 5hp 3 speed riding mower... Or at least it was! ----CURRENT STATUS---: Disassembled, chassis freshly painted! Awaiting wheel paint - IN PROGRESS. I've owned it since 2006 and used it for cruising my folks' neighborhood and the occasional trip to landspeed @ el mirage.  It is not a go-kart...but just as fun without the legal issues that a go-kart has... If you get my drift. My needs have changed and it is time for its next owner to enjoy. MowKart is currently finishing up an extensive, long awaited rebuild/reboot including: NEW ENGINE REBUILT GEARBOX REBUILT DIFFERENTIAL AXLE BRAKE UPGRADE PAINT AND UPHOLSTERY WORK Running the new Predator 5.5hp it hits 25mph governed in top gear. 3 speed gearbox with reverse. Gearing for speed accomplished with larger sprocket on transmission output.  This keeps the gearbox from getting noisy or worn.  Upgraded disc brake as well, parking brake, and has brake and clutch pedals separate,  a nice touch. Rear axle has 2 new bearings.  Differential was disassembled, cleaned, inspected in good shape, grease fitting installed, greased and assembled. Transmission rebuilt with lots of life left.  Shift lever repaired, shifter gates and forks reworked, detents reworked and improved, input shaft seal replaced, output shaft bearing replaced.   Reassembled with 00 grease.  This was a major hurdle! Body and frame in good shape very little rusting (stored in garage or shed since I've owned it).  Frame freshly painted. The seat/engine cover latches in front and hinges back.  The seat has a dead-man kill switch as well.  Body style was originally created around 1968 and ran until the early 80's.  Food for thought.  I have also have in PDF form: +Toro Whirlwind Operation Manual + Foote Transmission Service Manual Price listed as firm, but negotiate in person and talk it out.  Looking to match it to a buyer with interest and maybe a vision for it.  I've always liked it, I got a soft spot for it and don't want to part with it.  Not in a hurry to sell and slowly assembling it (price will increase).
