Description
This is a group of 10 wooden clothes / coat hangers from the 1930s to 1960s. Average length is approximately 17” long. Slogans read, “Over 50 Years of Service,” “Where Style Begins,” and “A Clever Clothes Shop.” Includes: 2 Bond (from the “flagship” store at 372 Fifth Ave at 35th NYC), Eisenberg and Eisenberg (149 5th Avenue, NYC), Moe Levy and Sons Outfitters to Men and Boys (119-125 Walker St. NYC), Buddy Lee (1407 Broadway, NYC), Bill’s (53-11 Myrtle Ave.Brooklyn) etc. Several feature interesting tidbits of history - such as a reference to “Stage 3457.” This is a reference to the 1940s massive supply base where buildings were numbered by “stages” in the Brooklyn. Metal hooks. These hangers have a nostalgic charm with their classic brown wood construction and original branding. Because they were designed for men’s heavy garments, they are strong and sturdy. Wonderful items because they blend art, advertising, history and function. Perfect for any antique / vintage advertising collection. Good vintage condition. Patina consistent with age and use. Clean and odor free. Sold as a group, not sold individually. Cash only. Pickup in New Hyde Park, Nassau County, Long Island, NY 11040.
