Sales, finance, managerial, and parts staff were friendly and responsive to my requests.  There was limited knowledge when it came to slide-in camper support.  However they were willing to help and listen to my needs.  Their financial dealings were very good and they made every effort to satisfy my requests.  I would buy another vehicle from this dealership.

Where do I begin on this communication failure situation. I brought my vehicle in for a routine oil change at 9am. 45 minutes later, it was done; sounds routine but was far from it. I no more than got up the 410 hill into Bonney Lake and found smoke coming out of the engine and smelled it burning through the vents.

So I turned back around and brought it back to Sunset. Communication failure #1- The staff took it back in and then came out 30 mins later to say “the technician spilled oil on the intake and attempted to clean it up but didn’t get it all”..they took my vehicle for what would be “a couple hours” to “detail my engine bay” and make sure it was good to go. So why not do the right thing first and tell me before I leave with the truck and make the situation right at the start? Sunset gave me a rental…cool, doing their best to fix the problem and recover the situation, right? That’s where it gets worse..

Communication failure #2 - Having heard nothing all day for their “couple hours detail”, I called them after my work day at 4:15pm to find out what was going on..only to hear that they wanted to keep it overnight..again, why did I hear nothing back well prior to 4:15pm and Sunset didn’t proactively update me as a customer throughout the day?

Communication failure #3 - at 11am the next day, Sunset calls me and lets me know the truck is ready for pick up and the engine bay was “detailed”. I picked up my truck, popped the truck hood to see what was detailed and do a QC of what Sunset did and to no surprise, all they did was wipe most of the residual oil off and leave it as it was..dusty and all. I guess my expectations of a “detail” was to completely clean the engine bay like actually washing it..but that was not it.

Essentially, my experience says that Sunset service is poor in proactively communicating, poor in reporting safety issues before they occur to their customer, and poor in making the situation completely correct as a “detail” to them meant different to them than their customer.

Made an a.m. appointment today for F150 oil change and issues with their back camera, there's a defect since we purchased it and knew nothing about it while signing paperwork; waited a few weeks for this appointment to sit in the waiting area, staff is telling me to come back after 4p. to get my own ride back,  they will not compensate for a roundtrip Uber, I took a day off for this appointment, make payments on time and all they said is we're sorry this is all we can do for you. I am so disappointed of poor service and communication. (More, the engine at one point sounded like a popsicle stick being placed against the blades of metal fan when it’s turned on. They must not have put oil back in the car during my last oil change, this is so concerning, it only takes seconds to cause engine damage!!!) Do not fall for oil change for life deal, we will never do future business with this dealer.

About 4 years ago I didn’t have the best experience at Sunset Ford, and hadn’t been back until last week.  I don’t know who or what changed, but my recent experience was a total turn around.  I was impressed!  They had the vehicle I was interested in ready to show and test drive upon arrival, the negotiation process was smooth and extremely fair, and the paperwork / finance convo was great too along with final delivery. Ask for Jarod (sales), Steve (manager), & Austin in finance… they’ll treat you well! I’m glad I gave them another opportunity… no regrets… and I love my new Ford!

The Sales manager Steve played some mind game of contact me and I’ll get you a good deal.  Mind you he sought me out while I was in the dealership and gave me his number.  I told the sales person I was working with that I wanted an aggressive deal.  There was no back and forth or any issue with the sales person that I’m aware of, but clearly the sales manager went out of his way to waste my time.  I’ve bought a previous vehicle from this dealership and have been using the service department for 10 years.  The previous vehicle and the new Ford I bought elsewhere will be serviced outside of Sumner where I live.  I literally live within walking distance and I’ll never spend another dime there.  I’m a veteran and would much prefer to spend my dollars locally, but I cannot recommend the integrity of this dealership.
