Do not buy a Kia, and definitely don’t buy it here if it has the same windshield and quality build as the new K4 models. We bought a K4 only 2 months ago here and the windshield snapped from the edge yesterday. Overnight it grew on its own while parked another roughly 6 inches. Drove my kids to school this morning and it grew another 4 inches. Drive to the grocery store down the street made it grow another 1.5 inches and my drive from the house to the dealership here where I bought it made the crack grow another inch plus.

I looked online and they had a class action against recent models for windshield issues, and 4-5 years later with my model it seems the same issue persists.

I’ve had tons of different brand vehicles and types and I have seen tons of rock chips and window cracks in my lifetime; never have I seen a windshield do what this is doing without additional force. You can tell the windshield is thin and I’m going to say from my experience in the automotive industry it looks cheap. I bought this vehicle expecting there to be an increase in quality from their past history, and I’m afraid to say we fully regret buying the car.

The miles per gallon ratings are also a huge lie because in this car if you don’t run the AC, the car throws hot engine fumes at you non stop. I have to run the AC or else I’m driving in fumes.

It seems Kia dropped the ball here and this dealership isn’t going to take care of you either. This dealership isn’t willing to make things right and it’s extremely disappointing to say the least.

Go somewhere else and buy a different car if you care for your kids safety and your pocket book. I’m afraid this windshield will cave in on me while driving home. Being forced to afford a windshield swap when you can’t, and having this dealership show you the door because they don’t want to back up what I see to be a low quality build, is sad.
