Description

Beautiful antique vintage pocket watch made in Germany!! Google states- The image shows a Ruxton brand pocket watch with a floral-decorated face and a gold-colored, ornate casing. The text on the watch face includes "RUXTON," "17 JEWELS INCABLOC," and "SWISS." Pocket watches were invented around 1510 in Germany by Peter Henlein. However, this specific watch is Swiss-made, as indicated on the watch face. The "17 Jewels" marking refers to the number of jewels used in the watch movement to reduce friction and wear, a common feature in higher-quality mechanical watches. "Incabloc" indicates a shock protection system for the delicate balance wheel, which was widely adopted in Swiss watches from the mid-20th century onward. Given these features, and the style of the watch, it is likely that this Ruxton watch was manufactured sometime in the mid-20th century, though the exact year of creation would require examining the serial number.
