It is inscribed "S.C. de Marie," which is short for " Sacré-Coeur de Marie," French for "Sacred Heart of Mary." It was made by the Jennings Brothers Manufacturing Company of Connecticut This is a bookend featuring a bust of Jesus Christ wearing the crown of thorns. It is often sold as a pair with a matching bookend of the Virgin Mary. * The bookends are typically made from cast metal, such as cast iron, or other materials like resin or plaster. �� * The style is often associated with dark academia or gothic decor.
