Description
$1975 No Less Cash Only For your consideration is an extremely rare Champion swivel / rotating vise made by Western Tool & Mfg. Co. Springfield,Ohio circa early 1900’s . I have included an image of an advertisement from 1919 . The vise itself isn’t that big. It only measures about 11” long overall when closed. The jaws are 2-1/2” wide and open to about 4”. The mounting bracket alone weighs about 10 Lbs. The vise and the pole that it is mounted to appear to have been cast together and weigh approximately 18 Lbs. The post has an outside diameter of approximately 2-3/8” and measures about 15-1/2” from the base of the vise. From the top of the jaws to the bottom of the post is around 21”. The vise rotates on the axis of the post, and the bracket allows the post to rotate clockwise and counterclockwise to roughly the ten o’clock and two o’clock positions. The post also moves up and down in the bracket, but I found it difficult to lock in an elevated position.
