Standing out in many ways from its "Faded SG" cousin, differences in the neck, three-knob wiring, and the combined wraparound bridge/tailpiece make this a true rarity and a must-have for any Gibson fan! This guitar is carved from solid mahogany and surprisingly light. Upgraded with Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups, the tone is rich, dynamic, and completely unheard of in your standard SG. Manufactured for only a few short years, this model was sold exclusively at Guitar Center and has since gone out of production. The quarter-sewn mahogany neck features a slim 50's profile that fills the palm comfortably while retaining its fast and effortless playability. The baked maple fretboard and original jumbo frets show well-rounded crowns with only minimal wear, mostly where you'd expect it. The truss rod has been adjusted for a straight neck with ideal relief, providing low action and solid intonation. The nut measures 1 11/16" in width. Original Kluson deluxe vintage-style marbled tulip tuners are intact, adjusting with ease and holding pitch as they should. The slick wraparound bridge/tailpiece and dark walnut finish top off its classic appeal. Cosmetically, this guitar shows only light scratches to the finish and scuffs in the pick path. All hardware has been tightened and all of the electronics have been fully tested, with the three-way switch and three black top hat knobs (two volume, one tone) working exactly as they should. Overall, this is a lively sounding, lovingly played instrument practically begging for your on-stage or in-studio play! Included is an aftermarket Road Runner hardshell case with chrome latches, black plush interior, and an extra-wide inside pocket.
