Why? Because this is an older watch (in UNUSED condition) that was bought decades ago and is being sold out of a private U.S. individual's personal collection. This mint condition vintage Russian AVIATOR brand Pilot watch from the 1990's is serial number 008 out of only 500 made and shows "008/500" engraved on its case back. The watch was recently inherited due to a death in the family and was found locked away inside his safe as part of his extensive "watch collection". It is in pristine condition. Immaculate with no scratches or dings and the band appears as if it was never worn (however I don't think this is the typical band that normally comes with this watch, so he must have ordered it with a different band option). This hard to find all-stainless-steel timepiece's design was inspired by classical military aviation models of the soviet USSR. It uses a Russian Poljot Mechanical Movement that is no longer manufactured, but has a reputation for running "forever". FEATURES - Round black analog aviation-style dial with 12 and 24 hour numbers and luminous glow hands, numerals, and markers. - Date display. - Second's hand advances at 6 beats/second. - 40-mm wide, 12-mm thick, satin stainless steel case. - 46-mm lug-to-lug, 20-mm lug size. - Powered by a 17-Jeweled 2614.2H mechanical movement (no batteries). - Mineral glass crystal. - Shock protection. - Screw-in case back (see pic #2). - 2-position hand-wind crown. - Water Resistant up to 50m (5 ATM). - Black nylon band.
