Description
This is a rare 1987 221 (21 foot) Star Craft Islander hardtop. This is an affordable aluminum boat with a hard top. It is in excellent shape, ready to fish today, with all maintenance performed, upgraded with a real anchor, electric anchor winch, solar charging, new cabin & mooring covers, galvanized trailer with disc brakes & electric winch, plus more. We are only selling it because we don’t use it as much as we expected. MAIN ENGINE: Mercruiser 3.0L with new plugs, wires and EST Electronic Ignition Distributor and Coil Upgrade Kit (no changing of points). Runs great. It is the most economical of the Mercruiser engines. With the price of gas these days, that is very much appreciated. OUTDRIVE: Alpha I with new water pump and new propeller as of 10/22/2022. KICKER / TROLLING OUTBOARD MOTOR: Honda BFP8 Power Thrust 8HP with electric and manual start. Runs great. New thermostat and water pump. Has an EZ-Steer System (https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/), allowing you to steer the outboard engine from the boat’s main steering wheel. ANCHOR WITH ELECTRIC WINCH: This boat has a real anchoring solution with an EX-3 HERO Direct Drive Drum Anchor Winch (https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/) with 250' of 3/8" nylon spliced to 15' of galvanized chain connected to a 13 lb. Galvanized Steel Mantus Anchor (https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/). You can see how this anchor compares to others here: https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/. You will have no trouble anchoring in the Columbia River with this setup. How many Starcraft Islanders have you seen with a good anchoring system? Most don’t have any real solution and those that do, usually have something that insufficient. Mooring cover and cabin curtains (to allow you to enclose the cabin during the cold) are new as of 2022. Also has a bimini top for the front and rear areas. Solar power to keep the batteries charged (no need to connect to electricity). Two 100 Watt Renogy Solar Panels (https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/) with 30A EPEVER MPPT Solar Charge Controller (https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/). SEATS: Two new Tempress 68455 Probax High-Back Orthopedic Boat Seats (https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/). One seat has a WavePro Shock 2.0 base (https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/) Note that I researched suspension seats before buying this and it was considered to be the best. Here is one of the sites that mentions a comparison: https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/ ROD HOLDERS: 4 Stealth QR2 rod holders (https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/). After studying the different quick release rod holders, we chose this one and never regretted it. Even a fisherman friend of mine that has the popular Folbe rod holders, said he liked mine better after using them. DOWN RIGGERS: 2 Scotty telescopic manual down riggers ELECTRONICS: Garmin GPS map 3205 plotter, Lowrance Elite 4 fish finder, Icom IC-M302 VHF Radio TRAILER: Calkins galvanized double axle trailer with disc brakes and Titan surge brake coupler. Pictures of the current trailer are shown without the boat. Tires are practically new, with very minimal wear. It has a Strongarm SA5000DC electric winch (https://offerup.co/faYXKzQFnY?$deeplink_path=/redirect/) that makes it super easy to get the boat on the trailer with no cranking by hand. It does have a backup handle if you ever need to manually bring in the boat. Note that the picture of the boat on the trailer was my only photo of the boat out of the water. It was an earlier photo before the trailer was replaced with the Calkins. It also didn't have the anchor or solar power at that time. My fisherman friend calls this boat a luxury salmon fishing boat. If you are interested, respond with your phone number and I can make arrangements with you to see it on the weekend. I am in the Beaverton/Aloha area but it is moored at Scappoose Bay Marina.
