Description
Another item from our online estate sale. This is a rather odd item ... but perfect for someone. George Brodhead was a celebrated American painter and the owner of a successful New York fine art gallery. This picture frame is from that gallery (and most certainly framed one of Brodhead's paintings). The frame has never been cleaned or otherwise renovated. It still has all the incredible patina, the original nails and hanger hardware. Brodhead died in May, 1940, so the frame is probably from the 1920s or 1930s. Best of all, pieces of the original backing paper are still sticking to the frame, and one of those pieces clearly states it is from Brodhead's gallery on East Avenue in Rochester, New York. Maybe you're a collector of Brodhead art? Perhaps you're an art forger and you need a time-period picture frame? Dimensions: - Outside measurements: 29 inches x 21-1/2 inches. - Inside measurements: 25-3/8 inches x 18 inches. - Frame width: 2 inches. Frame material: Solid Oak. Condition: The back of the frame is distressed and weathered, but the front of the frame is in remarkably good condition. This has been stored in my father's garage for years. Priced to sell quickly.
