Description
The print is from the series "Eight Parlor Views" (Zashiki hakkei), created around 1766. It depicts two women sitting on either side of a koto, a traditional Japanese string instrument. The title is a visual pun, as the bridges that support the koto's strings are said to resemble a flock of geese descending over a sandbank. It is 30"x 23"
