Japanese Vintage 1950s 2 Floral Moriage Porcelain Desser/Bread Plates, 5.5” Great vintage condition consistent with its age. Pictures are part of the description, please check them & let me know if you require additional ones. Defects & Imperfections — please check pictures made under the bright light & magnification: • Wear and flaking of the gold trim on one plate in one spot along the edges and within the geometric sections. • Small pinhole-sized dark speck in the glaze on the front. • Tiny kiln marks and glaze pops on the back, including one with a bit of discoloration. Fascinating Fun Facts: • These feature moriage (raised slip) decoration, a traditional Japanese technique. • The mark shows a plum blossom — a symbol of perseverance in Japanese culture. • “Hand Painted” marks like this were common on export ware from Japan post-WWII.
