From light to heavy duty this sewing machine has the power and stitches to handle any job you could throw at it. It basically has everything you’ll need in sewing and nothing complicated that you won’t use. It has extremely easy to regulate stitch speed that can go from a crawl for fine detail up to a blazing 1200 stitches per minute to get your project finished quickly. Try it and you’ll know why Bernina is the most desired and respected sewing machine brands in the world. There are 13 stitches: straight, zig-zag, vari-overlock, running, securing, triple (straight & zigzag), blind hem, double overlock, darning program, standard buttonhole, and 3 decorative stitches. The simple interface has one button for each stitch. All stitches are fully adjustable. There are 9 needle positions, a max 5.5mm stitch width, max 5mm length, and it has heel tap needle up/down. This machine also features adjustable presser foot pressure and a feed dog drop for darning and free motion quilting. Stitches shown are through 8 layers of jean denim and 2 layers of cotton. It handled both fabrics effortlessly with no tension adjustments required. This machine comes with 5 bobbins, a #1 foot, low shank and snap on adapters that allow you to use feet and attachments from other sewing machines, and 7 special purpose feet. A copy of the manual is available for free online and there are many YouTube videos available on Bernina Activa sewing machines. This is a real Bernina, made in Switzerland not to be confused with the low end machines they now sell under the names Bernette and Eversewn that are not Swiss engineered or built and are made in Taiwan and China.
