Vintage CB Radio

It’s a portable/car CB (Citizens Band) radio — basically an emergency roadside communication kit from the late 1970s/early ’80s. The sticker on the back spells out the full package: • 40-Channel Transceiver (the silver handheld unit) — lets you talk and listen on CB channels, including Channel 9, the old standard for emergency roadside assistance • Magnetic mount antenna — sticks to a car roof for better range • Cigarette lighter power adapter — powers it off your car’s 12V outlet The idea (per the “Quick, easy, 3 step set-up” panel) was: stick the antenna on your car roof, plug the adapter into the cigarette lighter, turn it on, and if you broke down or needed help, you could hail truckers or other CB users on Channel 9 to call for assistance — this was long before cell phones were common. The orange “PUSH TO TALK” bar is the transmit button, and the “RECEIVING RANGE” slider (local/distant) adjusts sensitivity. It’s a fun piece of CB radio nostalgia — these were popular in the CB boom of the late ‘70s. If it’s in working shape, it’d appeal to vintage electronics or CB radio collectors.
