Rocker armchair featuring ebonized finish with gold accents and stenciled fruit Dimensions: Height: 43.5 in, Width: 30 in, Depth: 23 in, Seat Height: 15 in Style: American Colonial Material: Hardwood Date of Manufacture: Mid-20th Century Number in series: 596 114 Condition: Good - Lightly used, with minor cosmetic wear of paint on arms, but has no structural issues. **NO SHIPPING - local pick-up or delivery only** As early as 1762, there was a Nichols Brothers Chair Manufactory in Westminster, MA. By 1857, it was already an established company that became the benchmark in craftsmanship. An updated brick factory was opened in 1907 by Charles Nichols, with his new partner Reuben Stone, under the name Nichols & Stone until 1990 when they were sold to outside investors. Nichols & Stone closed its factory in July 2008 after 151 years as a producer of heirloom quality furniture and believed to have the oldest remaining U.S. wood furniture plant.
