Description
This Antique Japanese Nambu Tetsubin Cast Iron Teapot is a traditional and unique piece that is both functional and decorative. The teapot is crafted from durable iron with a sleek black color, showcasing the craftsmanship of Japan. The maker's mark adds a touch of authenticity and tradition to this timeless piece, making it a perfect addition to any tea ceremony or home decor collection. Its classic design and sturdy construction make it a valuable and charming antique for any tea enthusiast or collector. This piece does have some rust on the outside and inside (as pictured). I was getting conflicting translations when I tried to translate the cast signature on the piece, but I think the most reliable one said “Translation 南部: Nambu (region/name) 常宝堂: Jōhōdō (brand/artisan name)” One Google search indicated this was from the Meiji era (1(contact info removed)), but I am not able to confirm that. Pickup is at a house near the college in the last photo, near downtown Woodstock. I have a houseful of things for sale here, so be prepared to spend some time to walk through if you so desire. Best offer. I am willing to deliver to a reasonable distance if you pay for my gas. I will need a deposit, if not full payment prior to my delivering. I am willing to ship if you pay for shipping. I will not hold any item without payment. I don’t require prepayment, and I can answer that it is pending pickup for most buy/sell sites, but if it happens to sell on eBay in the meantime, I must ship it to the buyer. That rarely happens, but it can happen.
