For sale is an authentic, beautifully aged vintage Chinese footed gathering basket with its matching shallow winnowing/drying tray lid. Handcrafted from woven bamboo and rattan, it features four carved wooden legs and traditional cross-braces secured entirely with original split-bamboo cane ties. It has an incredible rustic look and displays beautifully from its "good side," making it a perfect accent piece for farmhouse, boho, or primitive home decor. This piece is being sold strictly AS-IS for decor, prop use, or a craft restoration project due to a few age-related flaws: Lid Fit: The lid does not close completely flush due to old, natural wood warping. There are small, visible sections of broken and missing woven strands. The bottom wooden cross-braces and legs are structurally solid and hold the basket completely steady. Natural, old insect tracking is visible on the bottom brace. This item was originally purchased brand new, one owner, and was being used as a sewing basket many many years ago.
