Description

Antique Meissen Haas Mahler plate, 10 inches, hand-painted and gilded in the luxurious KPM Royal style. Features an intricate gold-leaf rim and a vibrant purple marking at the base of the central flower—it may be a signature or part of the design, adding unique character. Crossed swords mark with four lines underneath clearly visible on the back. Excellent vintage condition. Provenance & Expert Evaluation: I sent photos of this plate to Meissen, and Dr. Peter Braun, affiliated with the company, evaluated it: "Thank you very much for your interest in Meissen porcelain. According to the pictures and the mark with four grinding lines your wall plate was made in the late 19th or early 20th century. The lines mean a poorer quality compared to first or second choice. Maybe this plate was painted outside the Meissen factory, because usually products of a poorer quality were not so richly painted. In my opinion, your wall plate did not belong to a master collection. Best regards, Dr. Peter Braun Archivar / Leiter Historische Sammlungen This is a rare “Hausmaler” example where a Meissen piece was decorated outside the factory in the intricate KPM style, combining lower-grade factory porcelain with exceptionally detailed painting. Perfect for collectors of European porcelain or decorative art. “Pre-owned, see photos for details. Ships fast via USPS/UPS. Contact me with questions before purchase."
