VINTAGE MCM 1960/70’s EERO AARNIO STYLED BALL GLOBE CHAIR

1960/70’s BALL CHAIR, ALSO KNOWN AS GLOBE CHAIR was purchased by me about twenty years ago. The owner at the time thought the chair was manufactured in the 1960 or 70’s. I do NOT believe it is an original Aarnio chair. There are no manufacturing markings. The upholstery is in good condition. No holes. There are a couple of small areas where the upholstery seam has started to separate (see picture). The shell is also in good condition. No major cracks. There are a few age related micro size cracking near top edge (see picture). There is also some very minor separation of the upholstery from the shell near the front top (see picture). The chair was designed with integrated sound speakers under the uphostery. Never used by me. Operational status unknown. It is a difficult chair to measure dimensions due to its shape. This is an approximate measurement, 52” High x 46” W. Overall the chair is good condition. It has been a conversation piece during my ownship. A very cool mid century modern piece.
